Burning Engine Harness
What might cause the power wire on my engine harness burn up just by hooking my battery up. I know I have a dead short somewhere, but where should I look?

Did the fusible link burn up or did the main feed that goes accross the radiator support go?
Two areas to start would be the regulator area and the fuse panel. Other than that you could have a pinced wire which could happen anywhere that the harness is routed, or perhaps a screw through the wire. Have you changed anything lately? Good luck! Jim |

Not knowing exactly which wire toasted, pretty much everything after the starter is protected with fuses or fuse links. Sometimes if you look WHERE your truck was worked on LAST, you may find the cause. Need more info.
