Re: tpi system

A TPI is nice, but I don't think it's an even trade for a 427.
Do you have more info? Does it come with the 350? Is it already on the 350? What shape is your 427 in?

Re: tpi system

I think it's a tough one. I had a TPI and I loved it. It started great, ran great, and had great throttle response. The 427 will produce good power, but have crappy gas mileage.
TPI can be tricky. It all depends on how it's setup, and if it was done correctly. Have you heard it run? Have you been able to drive it? If you don't know what you are doing you can really mess them up. If they are done right they will be reliable for a long time.

Re: tpi system

You can buy engines out of F-cars or Corvettes with the TPI (350 or 305) and they aren't worth more than $600 complete with the harnesses.

I would bet your 427 is worth more than that.
