71 C10 is now out of storage
Hey Folks.
Got tags for the 71 yesterday and took it for it's first ride in a couple of years. Ran well but burned/blew out about a quart of oil during a 40 mile round trip. Didn't see any smoke during the trip although I did get a light puff of black when I 'got into it' on the way home. No smoke on starting the engine after sitting so I think the guides/seals are good. 350 engine was rebuilt and run a few hundred miles before going into storage. I'm kind of hoping that the oil usage rate will drop as everything gets 'loosened up' again....just wishful thinking or should I panic? Thanks. |
