tinted window, help

Guys i want to have tinted windows in my 70 4x4, no factory tint but black or close to it.Its illegal to use window film in my state, i was wondering if any of you have bought the tinted windows that CLASSIC INDUSTRIES sells. They have them in GREY/SMOKE, AND ITS THE GLASS THAT IS TINTED. NOT FILM.Does any of you have them and can you post pics so i can see how dark they really are. THANKS

Re: tinted window, help

Since the side windows are flat glass you can go to your local glass shop and have them cut out of safety glass. I had my side windows cut and its about 70% tinted. They just need your glass as a template and some urethane to glue it in the channel. Or you can ge them to do it. . And it legal. I dont have any side picks but I had the back done in about 90%

Around here its illegal to have tinted side side glass anyway but since its not film they leave me alone.

That looks real nice! I’m not a fan of window film, it will fade & its hard to find a shop that wont get it full of dirt~ at least in Albuquerque.
I think any smoked glass would look good.
Just remember the darker the glass the more heat that will be transferred into the cab. The better tint is metallic & it will reflect the heat away~ but looks kind of shinny.
Where can I get a slider like you have?

To the Missouri folks,
You can tint the side windows and rear windows on your vehicles as dark as you want (even limo). The only catch is, you have to have historical license plates issued to the vehicle. Otherwise, 35% light transmission is the max. FYI !!

Sharp & a good idea. Is it expensive to have this done? I am especially interested in the glass for the sliding window.
