Towing Capacity
Hey guys
I have a 86 K10, and looking to purchase an open car trailer, with electric brakes My truck has 350 HD, vin M TH400 tranny 2.76 rear end gears, LT 31X10.5-R15 tires Class IV frame hitch, 8000lbs GTW I will be installing a external tranny cooler Just wondering what you guys think my truck would be able to pull as it sits right now. As I have never pulled with this truck yet, and I don't want to overload it, and break anything Thanks Duro

Re: Towing Capacity
With 2.76 gears and 31" tires, it will not be happy with any weight behind it! Put some gas drinking gears in it and it will tow 10k pounds if loaded properly and driven properly
You did not say which axles you have, I am assuming 10 bolt, they will definately be you limiting factor in that truck.

Re: Towing Capacity
Yes it has a 10 bolt in the rear end
How much work in involved in changing diff gears in a 4X4, obviously I have to replace both front, and rear gears with the same The rear end I know how to do, but the front concerns me. It seems like it will be really time consuming Duro
