14 yr old Nephew got his truck home today

Well he got it home and he's wanting to go crazy on it. I think it great that he's 14 and is really into these old trucks. If any one has a link to some good 6cyl sites I would appriciate it as I'm sure he would to. I'm into the small block stuff never really did anything with the 6's. Heres some pic's of it 750$ truck from cental Pa. He's got Two years to make look good. pic make it look worse than what it is.

Re: 14 yr old Nephew got his truck home today

Yes it is a 68 and he hopes to get it done by its time to get his drivers lic. well see, money will probably be the biggest issue because it is a pretty good score IMO. Better shape than my 72 anyway.

Re: 14 yr old Nephew got his truck home today

Tell him to move to South Dakota and he could be driving it already! (14 for driver's license).

Good truck to start with. I want to see some 6 gun action as well.

Cool to see a young man into old vehicles. Teach that boy well he will go far. Looks like a good start for him. Does it run and drive?

Re: 14 yr old Nephew got his truck home today

A little tune up and a run over on the brakes and safty stuff it did sit for a little while I would say you could drive it any where, I 'm glad he found a complete truck. Some times it gets frustrating chasing down parts that you didn't expect you would need for The young ones.

Re: 14 yr old Nephew got his truck home today

16 is when you can get your license up here, 14 on the farm. I've loved these trucks since my brother had a 69 C-10, back when I was probably around 7 or 8 years old. I remember I loved that thing, and I've lovem 67-72's ever since. I jumped hardcore on the chance to get my 69 C-10 when I was about 16.

Congrats on the find (truck, and being lucky enough to get a nephew into these old timers) and good luck with the resto, and the motor

Re: 14 yr old Nephew got his truck home today

I still remember my dad and I driving my '72 home from the junk yard when I was 15. They bought it for the bed and I spoke up and said I'd gladly pay the $695 still painted on the window. The engine never gave me problems - just the shifting linkage on the 3 spd column. I hit a deer with it when I was 19 and sold it awhile later to fix up another classic. Who needs video games... You've got a good nephew there!

Re: 14 yr old Nephew got his truck home today

I remember getting my truck when i was around 10. It was the best thing in the world. Now i'm in the middle of a rebuild and am hoping to finish it up by early summer and have it street legal by mid to late spring. i will have my license in early may.
