Electrical problem 90 suburban - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I seem to have a dead circuit on my 90 Suburban. The brake light on the dash is on, the power windows don't work and the speedometer does not work. The fuse is dead on both sides for the power windows, if I add power at this fuse the windows work and the light goes out. I'm guessing the speedometer might work too. Anyone have any ideas.

typically there is a ground causing a problem... not sure what else it could be but I am sure someone will come along and find something

The problem started after I removed a porly installed electric brake controller. I would doubt it's a ground problem because when I power the circuit the windows work. I don't have a wiring diagram that shows where the "hot in run" power comes from......... Thanks for the reply.

I had the exact same symptoms on my suburban, except my sub doesn't have the power windows. Turned out to be a loose connection where the steering column plugs in to the wiring harness. It's a really long flat plug under the dash right on the column.
