Burning Up Plug Wires
After the rebuild, I didn't put the heat shields back on my exhaust manifolds for my 350. The other day I pulled my plug wires off and wires for plugs 5 & 6 got so hot from the manifold that the rubber 90 just peeled away. I had to put some old wires on there for now until I can take the burnt wires in for warrenty replacement (hehe).
Anyone know of any high temp plug wires I can get to tolerate these temps. Thanks Guys!

I would suggest putting the heat shields back on.....
Another point - I used to have these types of problems when trying to pull the wires off when the engine is warm/hot... Now, I always let the engine cool down before I start pulling wires - haven't had any problems since...

Guess I should have noted that there is a perfect outline of discoloration and spiderweb cracks where the heat shields use to be. The cracks didn't go all the way through...yet. That's why they didn't go back on.

Man if it's not one thing, it's another!!
I've got Taylor brand wires on mine. They hold up pretty good, much better than "stock" wires.

I've got Bosch wires on there now. Sometime I'm going to put headers on there (as soon as the wife settles down from the recent repairs). Headers don't hold the heat like the cast manifolds do...do they?

I've had good luck with Accel wires. Had a sety of regular Accel SS 8mm wires for a summer, no problems there, then switched to Accel 8.8mm wires, run between the head and headers, no problems so far. they've been on the whole summer.

CERAMIC BOOTS
If you run straight end boots & I do on both BB & SB with stock manifolds, then take a look at Champion Truck Plug Wires. They have ceramic boots on the plug ends. Trick looking too. Black wires with black & gold boots. Jacobs (I think) also makes high quality/high priced ceramic boot wires.
