What problems can I expect if I..
pull my gauge cluster to clean/paint it, as well as try to change some burned out(I assume) bulbs in there? My truck is my daily driver as well, is there anything I could do in there that would keep me from being able to drive it if I screw it up?

Watch out for a loose oil pressure line if you start it not hooked up.

I pulled my cluster to replace it today.....
Only problem was the P.O. put those little chrome rings on the bezel over the washer and headlight switches WAY too tight..... |

As far as being able to drive without it,,,,,, I did, with the headlight and wiper switch's hooked up. Can't see whats going on with your gauges or blinkers or anything else. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT !!!!!!!!

Re: What problems can I expect if I..
You can drive fine without it. I'm redoing my custom cluster and cruised with my speedometer zip tied to a screw hole.
Not recommended, but I wanted to drive and didn't want to get a ticket. Oh, and to get the light knob off you have to depress a button on the side of the back of the switch. Don't know if you knew that or not.

Re: What problems can I expect if I..
Man, this was by far the easiest way to get the interior of the truck lookin good that I have ever done- some model paint and warm soapy water and WOW, this looks like something I would have paid big bucks for... that tutorial was spot on, I LOVE the results of this and I started after church and was done by 5 pm. HIGHLY recommend this, and Im definately no pro- thanks for the help all!
