steering knuckel
I bought a gmc paul disc brake conversion kit for my 69, the ft. end came apart very nicely-should have been a clue. installed new knuckel, when i torqued it, the upper balljoint ( upper and lower new) nut went a thread past the cotter key hole, perhaps after market tolerance, the lower lined up normal. The knuckels feels to tight, I don't have a spring scale but I would guess it takes 15-20 lbs to move it. The dums I removed folped. makes me think upper ball joint is to narrow, if so, that makes me wonder about the lowers? any suggestions??

I believe they are designed to use the 1971 and 1972 ball joint. The shaft on the 71-72 joint is a bit larger in diameter and a little longer, but they will bolt in to the 1969 control arm.

Thats not too unusual when installing drop spindles. Just remove the nut and install a flat washer under the nut to take up the slack so the hole falls inside the castle nut's notches..
