My experience has led me to believe that the pounding might eb the only way to go. However, you might want to work on different ends of the rim when pounding to try and prevent any further binding. In other words, hit a couple of times at one end and turn the tire around 180 and take a couple of hits on that end. Good Luck!

Re: Stuck Wheel, Please Help!

I had this problem on my old 91 Caprice wagon. The hub center bore in the wheel would hang up on the hub of the rotor. After a couple times of using a block of wood and a 3lb hammer to remove the wheel, I broke out the dremmel and lightly cleaned up both the wheel and rotor- Problem solved.

Re: Stuck Wheel, Please Help!

I had the same problem with my rally wheels when they were powder coated. Just relieve the wheel's center with a die grinder so it doesn't hang up. Don't want that problem if you get a flat out on the road.

Re: Stuck Wheel, Please Help!

Get the truck back on the ground without the lugnuts, get it up to about 5000 rpm and slam it into R, Should come off then. Just kidding.

I had the same problem. I made sure the truck is sturdy on a jackstand and got underneath and hit the tire while turning it slowly. After a while it came off.
After that I cleaned the hubs up real good and havenīt had a problem since.

Re: Stuck Wheel, Please Help!

Install the lug nuts, and turn them one or two turns off the rim, then drop the truck back on the floor. Grab the bed, and start pulling the truck side to side. Get the wife, kids, folks, straingers walking down the street... to help, the more the merrier.

Re: Stuck Wheel, Please Help!

I have one rim that is smaller than the center of the hub.It will fit and snug up but it's a B!+ch to get off.I keep thinking I should mark it since I know it's the one painted white.I think it came from an earlier truck but I don't remember getting it.
