REAR END - What to get

I am back at it. Have 51 panel. This is going to be my daily driver year round. Want to get newer rear end. Will only pull trailer once a year for 10 miles so don’t need heavy duty or geared. Have a small block 350 with auto trans. Want to get as good as mileage as possible. Have been watching this site for a while and still I have not read a good fit for this width (61” to 62” drum to drum). Does anyone know what newer car or truck – 1990 to 2000 rear end will match up? Drums or disc I don't care. I don’t want to start cutting axles or tubes. I do plan on putting air bags on this, and realize that brackets will have to be made. After I get rear end (I will then know bolt pattern) I can order my IFS. Thanks any help would go a long way.

Here is a link for you. It doesn't list any late model vehicles, but its are good reference to start with:

Re: REAR END - What to get

70" total width on your whole axle/wheels is perfect, 72 is max.

So if your wheels have 5" of front spacing you need a 60" wide axle...4" of front spacing you need a 62" wide axle. You can fudge a little and do a 62" axle on 5" front spacing wheels but thats the limit amd will most probably rub if you go reallly low.

Re: REAR END - What to get

I picked up a 1999 s-10 4x4 blazer 4 dr rear end. Disc with limited slip. 60" wide.
With the 4 dr it also had a sway bar out back which I believe will work. 2 dr's have a sway bar but it mounts in front of rear end.
