Anybody still make replacement full bed sides?

years ago you used to be able to buy complete bed sides, and I believe that one side of my truck (the non rusty side) has an aftermarket bed side. It's time to do work to the other side, and all I'm finding from Goodmark are patch panels for the wheel well opening, lower bed side, and tailgate area. I don't see complete bed sides anymore. Does anybody still make these?

Re: Anybody still make replacement full bed sides?

I was looking into this myself and I found what I believe to be what you are looking for in the LMC Truck catalog item #5. I have attached a screenshot of the page I am referring to.

I hope this helps.

Yes plenty of the catalogs have them.

LMC

Classic parts of america, used to be chevyduty,

I think golden state parts does?

The paddock does, and maybe a local body parts dealer. We have 2 near me and they both deal in complete sides as well as patches and goodmark stuff.

Just remember the repro bedsides are not as thick and heavy as the originals.

I have seen a company making fiberglass ones. I had it bookmarked some time ago. Don't know if many are interested in those. I think they were less than 350 a piece.

But they aren't as rusty either. I've been around body work long enough to know that if you keep the original sheet metal, you'll just keep fighting the rust. Replace what you see, and 6 months later a new spot comes through. This truck isn't going to see much (if any) salt from now on, and the aftermarket side that's on the truck has been holding up very well so far.

Re: Anybody still make replacement full bed sides?

Agreed, we had replacement bed sides on our 86 k10 and it had sat in primer out in the weather. They surface rusted bad on top and the body line but NOWHERE did they have a hole. I know they had been on the truck for about 7 years or more also.

I think usbody source might be the ones with the fiberglass ones, heck they had whole cabs, doors, front ends, fenders, freaking everything fiberglass for 73-87 and alot more. I know they had whole beds so probably sides too.

On a side note we got some used, repo doors for our old 76 and they had been on the donor for I dunno how long, we painted them and had em on our 76 for 10 years or more out in the weather everyday, and in the salt, heck the window sweeps were trashed and they never rusted.

So yea maybe thin, maybe alot more work to shim and line up right but one of the best rust alternatives IMO.
