Wheel Size Question
I am about to do a drop job on my '70 SW. I am replacing the front crossmember and rear end from a '71 to get discs and 5 bolt. I am looking to lower the truck probably 3/5 with spindles and coils. My question is will this allow me to put 18" wheels on without any clearance problems or should I go with 17". Also, will there be any probs doing some occasional ski boat towing with that drop setup. If you have pics of this setup it would help as well. Thanks.

You won't have probs w/17's or 18's fitting but if you are considering any towing make sure your sidewalls are capable of handling the load. For the rears prob a 4.5" sidewall would be the shortest you should consider. Even @ 3/5", in the rear you might consider air-bags so you can adjust the suspension to compensate for the added weight. I pull an 18' car hauler w/approx 5/7 drop & the bags make all the diff in the world. I use 15" wheels/tires w/fairly decent sidewalls too(215-75 & 275-60). Hope this helps.
