Talking weekend progress ,

well I have been at this truck for 6 week's straight here it is april and I have not even sprayed any primer yet !! I did however get my glove box door done if you can call that progress ,,,, man I've got to get on the move the cruz in's are getting fired up !!! I got my fender's painted on the inside yesterday and painted the cowl and underneath the cab , then reinstalled the fender's and the grill , maybe this week I can start priming and blocking ,
couple of thing's I have found where I have not worked on one of these truck's in a while is that THEY DON'T WANT TO ALIGN PROPERLY !!! UGGGGG
the door's on my truck are the original one's and would not align to give a good gap all around I ended up have to just align them as close as they would go and then cut and weld to get good line's and gap's !!! I'll take some pic's later today because as we all know ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

THIS THREAD IS WORTHLESS WITHOUT PICS !

Re: weekend progress ,

Yeah body panel alignment is always fun. Especially with vehicles like our trucks that weren't assembled with precision looks in mind to begin with.

Arrow Re: weekend progress ,

yea thats right ! these truck's were ment as mostly work vehicle's , the alignment is tough but it can be done , with a little blocking and priming I have mine to the point now where the gap's will look good , I notice a lot of these truck where the door's stick out past the cab corner's and fender's and I did not want mine to be that way , I want all my gap's even and when you look down the side I want everything level and nothing out to far , it's raining out but when it stop's I'll snap a few pic's of what I have done right now ,,,,

Only because you can actually see it instead of having 30+ years of coffe spills and grease on it.
