WTB 72 rear license plate housing

Looking for a NOS rear license plate housing. I thought I could still get them from GM but I seem to be having trouble. Can anyone help? This is for a stock 72 sport bumper.

Still looking for one. Is yours in (new) condition? What do want for it?

They are still available from GM. I just bought mine two days ago. I can get the part # tomorrow if you need it. PM me to remind me, and I will post it here.

Re: WTB 72 rear license plate housing

FYI

I bought a good used one on boards and all the holes did not line up with stock chrome rear bumper. I used the upper 2 holes and it is solid and fine for driver but should have all 4 bolts to fit right. I assume it was one off of one of the other models mentioned above. Anyone else had this issue?

Re: WTB 72 rear license plate housing

I just finished mocking up a repop license plate bracket to a new aftermarket bumper. It does not fit without adjusting (bending the bracket) and grinding the holes out on the bracket. You must make that bracket fit the bumper, (not the other way around) otherwise the bumper will be bowed up in the center when all the bolts are tightened up. If you take your time the repops can be made to fit just fine but they do take more work.

Re: WTB 72 rear license plate housing

I bought a repo bumper and bracket from Tim Christiansen and it went together without any mods!

Re: WTB 72 rear license plate housing

the used bucket I had when mounting using top holes the side holes were over 1" off (too much to slot and use), could have redrilled.

Re: WTB 72 rear license plate housing

I used an aftermarket bumper with a GM bucket and it lined up perfect
