5 year annv of the longhorn

I just realized, that it was 5 years ago .. on the 30th of march IIRC, that Longhornjeff and I hopped in his K/5 and went to Randy's (oldchev4X4) in PA and hooked up the trusty and rusty tow bar to the longhorn and drug the poor old girl home.
Road trips with board members is fun enough, but when you are going to get a truck, from yet another board member... well, that's what fun times are made of. Jeff and I still talk about that trip when ever we talk on the phone.
Jeff was the first board member i met... with Randy being 2nd by one day.
If you have the money, and the urge... then make the time
If you have the time and the urge... find the money
And naturally, if you have the time and money... then i need your secrets.
I've taken many a road trip, and I've bought many cars. (Not compaired to some of you though) However, this trucks, and this road trip... both mean more to me than any cheesey vacation, and road trip for parts... anything.

Thank god jeff didn't turn out to be an ass hole... that woulda made for one loooong trip!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY LONGHORN!!! (yes, I just hugged my truck)

Happy annversary Longhorn Man. LONG trucks make for LONG love affairs it seems. I hope like H*** that doesn't mean my swb love affair will be short lived though. I have had to sell to many projects in my lifetime already. RJ22

Re: 5 year annv of the longhorn

I did hear some of this story that you told to my cousin last week. He said something about you not having brakes on either tow or towee vehicle? Guess that is what makes a great road trip memorable.

Re: 5 year annv of the longhorn

biff, we had brakes on the tow vehicle... but it was a little 1987 K/5 blazer... with a one ton longhorn on the back pushing it down the mountains in PA.

Levi, I sure wish i remember tellin you this... but if you're happy with what you got, and the info i gave you... then sweet.

stllookn, you were mostly stalking back then weren't you? Or... did I just not notice you untill you started finding 50th longhorns all over the place? I still say you suck.

Gman... there's a LOT of reasons why this board rocks... and yes, that is one of them. I left out the part where the great members of this board all pitched in and bought it for me didn't I?

Bill... she HAS come a long way... most of that distance covered after I moved out from the Ex's house. She still claims she supported me and my hobby.
