Possible Longhorn?
I was looking through my regional Craigslist and spotted this ad. http://reno.craigslist.org/car/305741214.html
Would this be a Longhorn, and is the price worth it? Maybe someone on here would be more interested in it than me. I have already been told no more vehicles unless I sell one or two.

Sounds like it but you would have to verify on the SPID Sheet the model number it should be CE23604

 but whats so cool about longhorns?? i could look this up on my own but im feeling lazy. but dont crucify me if its some holy grail, im new to this chevy thing

They are sought by some,but no holy grail.Not worth any more than any other truck these years unless in damn good condition.But then,so are the others.With a rough body???What`s an old truck with a rough body worth that`s not original?Especially if the bed`s rough and they`re hard to find?

Chevrolet's 1970 pickups continued without appearance changes. The one new pickup was the 3/4 ton Longhorn. It was built on the 133 inch wheelbase and featured an 8 1/2 foot box and was capable of carrying camper bodies up to 12 feet in length... The Longhorn continued in 1971. (source: chevytrucks.org)

Not necessarily. GM started production of Longhorns in '68
 I don't think they're similar to the lil red express, the longhorns were just a truck GM came up with to accomodate people who needed a longer than normal bed. They probably never imagined how popular their deisngs would be 40 years later, especially for something as utilitarian as a truck.

Longhorns were produced from mid-'68 until 1972. Did Chevrolet even continue to make trucks after the Longhorn
 ?...or were they all just "posers"...

As the owner of a Longhorn, I can say that they are very utilitarian. Some things like bed wood are available, but not as common as the usual SB or LB. The thing has the turning radius of a Greyhound bus, but rides nice because of the added length. Also, if I read correctly, at least all the GMC Longhorns came with heavier duty leaf springs instead of coils in the rear. Also, I'm thinking of putting a shell on mine... yeah, wish me luck! Anybody have any leads on one?

OK as the owner of a Longhorn, their production numbers were very limited. A nicely restored truck is like a nicely resotred truck. Most were 3/4 with heavy duty camper springs and or leafs.
