Question Middle seat belt?

my girlfriend likes to go cruisin with me in the truck every now and then but she likes to sit in the middle of the seat... so is there a middle lap belt available anywhere that i could put in so she'll have some sort of a seat belt?

Re: Middle seat belt?

you can probly find a stock orignal one from one of these trucks in a yard or even another car of the time but if you dont care about the stock belts then go to jcwhitney and get some belts, thats what i have in mine and i love them, even though all my friends call them airplane belts

Re: Middle seat belt?

I "think" starting in 72, 3 belts were mandatory. Or at least all 72's I've had had belts for each passenger seating position.

Re: Middle seat belt?

Just FYI -
I looked for a center belt for a while, but finally just went with a universal fit one.

They aren't as easy to find as you might think. But best of luck to you. If you run across a lot of them, post up!

Re: Middle seat belt?

That is funny. And,the sit next to yoy part is true. The not liking old trucks one is true, only if you spend too much time on them.Doesn`t have to be much, either.
The center belt was not an option alot of guys went for and dealers were ordering them.It would take a highly optioned truck to have that item.

If she still wants to sit in the middle, remember there´s no seatbelt, imagine what happens when you hit the brakes real hard. Problem solved.

I´m trying to find out about the seatbelt too. I keep looking for one at Swap meets over here but haven´t seen any yet. If I get any others I guess I can just shove them back behind the seat until I need them.

I will be getting a historical registration and the car or truck has to be close to original.
I see classics all the time that only have a drivers seatbelt and the are allowed to drive it on the streets.

Re: Middle seat belt?

My 72 gmc has them in it, but it has every option i think they had then.

I know a guy locally that might have them, but I can't offer to sell them due to not being a paying member YET!!!!

Re: Middle seat belt?

Glad to have ya in the meantime.I know how it is w/credit cards.I even paid for my subscription by mailing a money order because I didn`t want to use a card. It`s the only way to get them down,DON`T USE THEM!!!I could never get my wife to figure that out, even after paying them off with home equity loans and eventually with refinancing. We`re not together now.

There was a thread on those belts not too long ago. I think it was a Corvette belt. I will look for it. Here it is....

Re: Middle seat belt?

It may look like the Corvette belt, but it's stock OEM issue for a 67 truck. Another 67-only item. You are going to find it very difficult to find a 67 center belt. In fact I don't think they were available, so you may be stuck with after market or a mismatched 68-up center belt.
