Putting a 700 r4 tranny in a 71 chevy
Heres my delema i have this 700 r4 tranny that my dad wants to put in my truck. I was wondering how would you get it to work we are not shure if they sell the wiring to hook it up or get it off a newer style truck or what. any help would be greatly appreciated

I put in a pre computer one in mine and with the diffrent valve body and a lock up kit from TCI you dont have to worry about the trans burning up.

don't mean to hijack a thread but i have a question, i have a trans w/ a tv cable but no plug on the side what is that all about?

What year is it. Might be pre (or no) lock-up.

I second the TCI kit...
I like that it allows you to add switches to lock the tranny in any gear, or disable lockup which lets you use 4th gear while towing (like the new trucks). it only takes about 10 minutes to install (not including pan removal and re-installation)
