Re: stiff gas pedal
Quote:
I was just thinking about an '85 K5 I used to own. My sister was buying it from me - she had a situation so I more or less gave it to her and she was fixing things on it as she drove it. The carb was having issues so her then boyfriend replaced it with an Edelbrock. This involved using a spacer under the carb. The driveline broke and ended up cracking the case of the transfer case so she gave it back to me. After getting it back on the road I noticed that when giving it gas it was real hard to a point then it got easy. This was real annoying especially since it was a manual tranny - you would end up flooring it when it got over the "hump". The spacer was because of the EGR valve. I removed the EGR valve and was able to remove the spacer. The throtle was smooth as silk then. Short story log, like was said before check the angle of the throtly cable. It made a huge difference on that K5.
