5 lug axles?

Where is a good place to find some 5 x 5 lug axtles for my '69? I'm wanting to just replace them and keep everything else in my rear end the same.

I was shown some pictures of the finished product. At least it survived the junk yard.

Re: 5 lug axtles?

Chevy 5 lug axles are longer than the 6 lugs. Aftermarket ones are now available from several sources but I'd bet they are all made by Moser.

You can go there or to CPP or ECE.

Re: 5 lug axles?

Get 5 lug axles out of a 73-81 12bolt 1/2 ton 2wd chevy or gmc pick up. Then grab a set of 74-87 2-3/4" x 11-5/32" brake drums to make up the difference in the widths. Then just remove your old axles and drums and install the new ones. Good luck.

Re: 5 lug axles?

disks should make it even easier to use the 73-87 axles. just space out the caliper correctly to the new disk.

Re: 5 lug axles?

Due to the lack of availability in my area I ordered a set of axles from a guy on Ebay for $85 shipped. Heirgears was the name IIRC. I could have spend 3 times as much on new ones but these were in good condition and came with c-clips and wheel studs.

Re: 5 lug axles?

I picked up a '69 6 lug rear end with trailings so I can replace the "homemade" leaf spring setup I have...... Question is where can I get the 5 on 5 axels?? Any where near me in the DFW area or do I need to order some new ones from jeg/summit? thanks....

Re: 5 lug axles?

Robznob11 pmed me about Randys Ring and Pinion. He said that is where he got his from and spent $310 shipping included. He also said they were Moser axles. I'm going with them.
