factory air to vintage air conversion
Body is back on the frame (painted) and the drivetrain is in. Its time to install the new AC. Ive removed the factory ac to get a cleaner look. I am leaning towards the units from Vintage air simply because that seems what most people are buying. Anyone here done this? Also, are any moifications to the firewall or core support neccesary?
Thanks, Tom |

Re: factory air to vintage air conversion
I am also wanting to use Vintage but I only have heat in mine. I would like to also get more info on them and if all of there kits go completely under the dash. That is the look I'm wanting to go for.

Re: factory air to vintage air conversion
I pulled the factory A/C and used an aftermarket unit and love it, and one of the guys that works with me ( Slickorange ) did the same. His was Coyote Air from Coyote Rodders ( in Georgia ) and mine was taken out of a fresshley completed Street Rod that changed hands and the new owner did not want it, so I dont' know hte brand but they are all pretty much the same basic unit. I have some buddies at Buckaroo Communincations ( Truck Builder, Street Rod Builder etc..) and they have used Vintage Air with great success.

Re: factory air to vintage air conversion
Here's mine that fatboy was talking about...
Under hood shots and under dash as well. http://slickorange.com/ac2/acip_index.html This is on a non-Factory Air truck that at one point did have factory air on it, then I went to this. DLB Last edited by Orange; 04-13-2007 at 01:17 PM. |

Re: factory air to vintage air conversion
Vintage Air is what both of my trucks have. I've been quite pleased with it.
