Re: vin number questions

That doesnt seem like a legitimate vin number.

My valid number is C2546J121692

and according to LMC, its not quite right.

It would seem my 1st digit is in the 5th place.
But it works out its a C (2wd)
25 (3/4 ton)
4 (pickup)
6 (1966)
J (Janesville assembly plant)
121692 (production number)

1002 zf12854a doesnt fit the format of mine or LMC's catalog

Re: vin number questions

Is it a GMC VIN number? Or maybe a new VIN given out by the state to retitle it?

Re: vin number questions

To break down the GMC vin, I would go to Jolly's website, he has everything on the '60-'66 GMC's. I think the web address is 6066GMCGuy.org.
When using the cab from a '63-'66 on a '60-'62 1/2 ton frame, the 2 front cab mounts will need to be drilled to bolt up the cab to the frame.
