Re: WTB crossmember piece, cab mounts for 4WD

Mike, thats the piece that was rusted out on mine causing all the frame problems....I fixed mine but it wasnt near that bad.For a cheap fix you could get some metal and weld up a new peice for that crossmember.TTT for ya.I *think* that the crossmember for a 4x4 (long or shortbed) is slightly different than the ones on 2wds but I cant remember.

Re: WTB crossmember piece, cab mounts for 4WD

actually that side of the frame was fine, the other side had this small hole. I think that i'll graft in a small piece of steel to replace this part. I have also noticed some other crossmember that I need to remove to clean out rot before they get worse.

Re: WTB crossmember piece, cab mounts for 4WD

That pic reminds me of my frame troubles.....Looks like it needs the same treatment mine required.A sawz-all to cut the old out and a new piece to put in,and a welder to put it all together. It looks like it fairly thin for a few inches around that hole.If you need any 4x4 crossmembers( t case x member, ect),I have atleast one of them.

Re: WTB crossmember piece, cab mounts for 4WD

I know I have the frame mounts, just stripped another truck. As far as the crossmember I have one from a 2 wheel drive leaf spring truck. I will be out at the shop Sat and will match it up to my swb 4x4 to see if they are the same or will swap.
Thanks,
Steve

Re: WTB crossmember piece, cab mounts for 4WD

troy-built is working on the parts too so first one with pics and good price gets the dough... thanks

If it's easier then I might take the entire crossmember (16 rivets) vs the lower piece (8 rivets).

I have a brand new set of polyethlene mounts for 4x4 if your interested. Could knock a few dollars what I paid for them.
