6.0L to NV4500

What has to be done to mate a late model 6.0L to an NV4500?

Been debating engine choices for my 72 K20 for a while now, and the prices for low mileage 6.0Ls on ebay is very tempting. Any problem mating them to an NV4500?

Re: 6.0L to NV4500

Nope, not a problem to do! They came with NV4500s stock in the early few years, like from 99 through 02 or so. Just gotta pony up to get the parts from the dealership.

Keep in mind that the early 6.0Ls that came with an NV4500 have a crank that is NOT reccessed .4" like the 5.3Ls and later 6.0Ls, so if you get a later model 6.0L, you'll have to go through Advance Adapters to get a conversion flywheel.

Programming shouldn't be too difficult for any competent programmer, get it changed when you get VATS disabled.

Re: 6.0L to NV4500

Thanks for the quick response. The programming is to make the engine work with the tanny?

For the longest time I was going to go the HT383 route and plop on an MPFI system, but it was going to be so expensive that now I am leaning towards the 6.0L. Any pros/cons from your point of view? Anyone on here done the same conversion with a 6.0L and the NV4500?

Billyjo has a K5 with a 6.0 nv4500 205 combo...he also has a Magnacharger on it. He should be able to help you out.
