c20 switch to c10 running gear
I have a C10 and am looking at a C20 because the body is much better than mine. My problem is I don't like the 8 lug wheels, I have good 6 lug and rally wheels on my C10. Can I just swap the spindles on the front (and maybe the springs) and then swap the entire rear end? Both are coil spring rears. Of course the other option is to just take the cab and front sheet metal off the C20. It's a 67 which I like better than my 70, the drawback is the C20 has a good bed, but it's a longbed where mine is a shortbed.

Re: c20 switch to c10 running gear
Easiest way, I think, is drop the entire front cross member and put the C10 on the C20 frame, then do same for the axle. I am Not positive if the A-arms are the same for both, so I am not positive of the spindle swap thing.

Re: c20 switch to c10 running gear
Thanks Bill. I'm going back and forth on how to tackle this if I get the C20. My C10 has a hot rodded 250 that my uncle built, so that means something to me, the C20 also has what appears to be a good running 250, but all stock, so therein lies the idea of just swapping the front sheetmetal and the cab.

Re: c20 switch to c10 running gear
Do the front clip/cab change IMO. Keep the SWB. If you got a decent LWB bed, you can probably work out a deal with some one for an equivalent SWB bed for your C10, plus have a spare motor to boot for yours.
