1972 GMC C1500 lowering
So I wanna drop my truck, not all the way to the ground, but close enough lol. Maybe a 4'' in the front and 6'' rear? My trucks has a leaf suspension, so how can I lower it to the amount Im wanting to. Im kind of a newbie and just getting into trucks but this is a family vehicle my grandfather left behind and Im willing to learn to make it a looker!

I think flipping the axle over the leaves will give you 6''. Or you can go to www.earlyclassic.com and get their drop leaves and shackles for a 5.5'' drop.

i have a 70 c-10 camper and i air bagged mine, what i did was remove the leafs and got some stock trailling arms from the boneyard. paid $50 bucks and a 18pack for the arms, panhard, stock coils (not used) and drive line cross member (not used), popped the rivits on the brackets for the trailing arms and it all bolted up no problems still have to channel the frame but with the bags and 2" blocks its should sit level with my front which i put a 80 chevy front end on for my disc conversion which drops it lowwer bagged then the stock 70 drum set up i had bagged. bottom A-arms sits 1" off ground so if i blow a bag out i can still get it home.
Ive heard you can find or fab a 3 link that bolts to the leaf, mounts but for me after selling the coils and cross member a case of beer was way more cost effective for my bugget build new weld up angled axle pads from CCP cost $35 + $8 shipping pic of the rear is not channeled yet once done it will sit 4" lowwer on the noch and 2" from the lowwer profile tires i'm useing leaving it sitting a 5.5" never under estiamte the power of beer at a boneyard! That would be sweet to mount your valves behind the tool box door in the bed. Manifold them all up or use the Big Red kit. Now that would be something different. I don't think I've ever seen one of these trucks with a tool box bed with bags.

funny you say that 67fleet, a buddy off mine gave me some great shape bed pannels w/o the tool box door and cut out when i tool him it would be a great place to put the pump and valves there or may be build the box to house the 2 batterys. he stated that its too getto to keep the tool box, but after thinkin about it some i've opted to go ahead and put in a raised wood beed and utlize the tool box for that purpose. i'll post some picks of the temp set up tommarow.
