Carb's In - Thanks Guys
Well, got the carb all cleaned up and reinstalled yesterday. Seems to have a little trouble when cold (possibly didn't get the choke quite right), but once she's warm, all is great. Whatever the issue was before, I think the rebuild took care of it.
I do notice a slight smell of gas when driving. I haven't checked for a fuel leak yet, but I suspect I may not have all the air horn screws torqued enough. Any thoughts? Also, what is the torque spec for the carb to intake bolts? Anyway, minor issues... Thanks to everyone who helped out. Not sure what I would have done with out all your info.

Yah man, that looks real nice and clean. For the choke what seems to be the problem, running a little too lean or what? Adjust yer idle a/f ratio through the screws when truck's all warmed up and choke's wide open, then early in the morning adjust the choke without touching the idle screws - we did that to a buddy's Mustang, works like a charm.

Thanks for the props guys.
So I took the truck to work this morning. Again, on first start-up, she'll struggle a little to stay running, but once she's warm, all is good. I'll have to do some "tweaking", but for now, it's drivable. |
