Are tubular A-Arms neccesary?

I would like to know what the great bennefit from tubular A-Arms are. Is it just the Bling factor? They cost $700-800 for upper and lower. Nothing but some mettal tubing. I can buy some Heddman Headers for my truck for 130.00. Sounds to me , somebody makes 600 dollar profit. I mean they are nice but really worth it?

First I want to say Welcome to the board.

Now this one will bring opinion into account for sure.

Here's my take on the matter. There will be some benifit over stock arms stength and flex both. I have seen it first hand on race cars. There is the bling factor. Also I disagree with the factor of comparing the headers to the tubular A-Arms. Different area, different strength factor, and such. I'm sure you would not want to run an A-Arm made out of the same material a header tube is made out of.

As for needing them. No you don't for a normal daily driver but they have there place and will add some benifit when they are added. In conclusion I feel they are a little over priced just not for the reasons you listed. Hope it helps RJ22

Well, comparing it to headers was just an example. I was considering the amount of skill and time to fabricate either one. I was not comparing it on strength or material cost just the factor what takes to manufacture it.

Tubular arms allow for more articulation, you can get approximately 1-2" lower or more using tubular arms than the factory arms. To boot, It's honestly easier using to mount an airbag to the tubular arms versus the stock arms.

If neither of these things appeal to you, then don't buy tubular.
