how much $$$ for a shortbed.
I'm just curious what the going rate for a short bed is. I mentioned this in the million post thread but I drove by a house the other day that was getting a new roof put on it and there was a short bed that was being used as a trailer for all the shingles and crap. There was no one for me to talk to when I went to look at it but it seemed in ok shape. The quarter panels had some obvious bondo spots and a few dings, not anything that can’t be fixed. The front part of the bed (the piece that connects the two quarter panels that butts up against the cab, don’t know what that would be called) has some rust in it. It has no tailgate . the bed portion looks like it isn’t too rusted, but it was full of shingles so I couldn’t get a good look at it (that’s brings up another question, the shingles and stuff put so much wait on the bed that when I looked on the underneath side of the bed, I could tell that it sagged down between each support beam, is that fixable or is it not worth it?). Anyway, I am thinking about trying to convince this roofing company to let me buy them a new trailer, but I want to have a good price range to offer them.
Help is much appreciated Jason

Re: how much $$$ for a shortbed.
no tailgate (-150), front bed panel rusted (-100), floor bowed (-300), good bedsides (+400) looks like they owe you....
Seriously though, maybe $250-300 if the sides are useable. if everything is useable then 400? Is it a wood or steel floor? What axle was under it? That could be worth some change... Sounds like it's been abused though.

It's not worth the cost of a new trailer. I agree with msgross, 250-300 if it's a parts truck, 300-400 if it's buildable.

Re: how much $$$ for a shortbed.
I just watched a whole SWb truck gor for <400 on Ebay. It was pretty rusty but I doubt that you'll find a good trailer for that. Make them a 73-87 LWB trailer! Plenty of those lying around!
