Don't know about the 2WD Blazer, but the 4WD can be a pain in the butt, especially the valve covers, HEI dizzy, and the headers.

Re: 91' 454 SS Motor for my 2WD Blazer
will I still have clearance issue if I use the short valve covers and not the tall ones? what about motor mounts is there any special motor mounts I'll be able to use if so, where can I buy them? if not, do I have to make or weld my own motor mounts? what will be the best set up to convert TBI to Carb. do I need to replace the tbi Intake too? can I use an stock carburator (new) or both has to be replace with a big name like Edl. or Hlly. if so, what part No. is for intake and carb, from edel.

Re: 91' 454 SS Motor for my 2WD Blazer
No experience with the 2wd Blazers to know if they put the motor in the same location. In relation to the intake - what heads are on the motor? If they are peanut port heads, Weiand is the only company I know of that makes an intake that is designed for the peanut port heads.
Get a couple pics of where your engine crossmember is located and that will help know if it is in the same location as the 4wd motors.

Re: 91' 454 SS Motor for my 2WD Blazer
Look on the parts board there were some BB truck mounts on there. They will work. On a 2wd Blazer the BB will set in the same position as the small block. On a 4x4 the engine sets back toward the fire wall to connect with the trans and transfer case. On 2 wheel drive the engine sets away from the fire wall. When you look at a 2 wheel you will notice the fan shroud is shorter than a 4wd becaues the engine is set back on a 4wd. When you mount the BB in the 2wd position you won't have firewall clearance problems like the ones people have installing a BB in a 4wd. One thing I forgot is the water pump and belt set up on late model BB. I don't remember if it has short or long water pump. You may have clearance problems with radiator with the late model set up if it has long pump. The factory BB set up used a short water pump when used in the 2wd position. You may have to move the engine back to 4wd position to clear long pump to avoid radiator clearance problems. I sure some one on the board has made a late model swap and will be more help.

Get a post going in the Engine/Drivetrain section to see if that motor would have the peanut ports. They did in 1989 but I'm pretty sure I read that they went to a different head later on. Someone on ChevyTalk in the performance section will also know for sure.
