ZZ454 in my '72

All that seems simple is not... Trucks running well attached are pick of the CPP trailing Arm Crossmember, DTS rear end cover, there is an Eaton 3.08 posi hiding behind it, and the exhaust crossover pipe. Hopefully tomorrow it will be on the road.

If you come take me for a ride in it tomorrow [I promise not to ask to drive] I will buy us each a tall double latte?
Call before you come, OK?

Re: ZZ454 in my '72 - pics

I know you may not want to hear this question but, I have to ask.

HOW long is your slip yoke on your drive shaft? Is it in the back of the tranny far enough? It may just be the pic's but I had to ask to be sure. I would not want to let it be unsaid and have something bad happen. I hope every thing is cool since you are so close to being on the road. RJ22

Re: ZZ454 in my '72 - pics

Using a 19" reverse spin, flex-a-lite mechanical fan.

It's a filtermag on the oil filter, pretty much a giant magnet that keeps any metal bits as small as .02 microns in the filter. Worked great on my '96 ImpalaSS So i figured why not use one again.

Re: ZZ454 in my '72 - pics

Is it, basically, a flex flan & I assume you are not using a spacer, right. How far is the fan away from the radiator??

Re: ZZ454 in my '72 - pics

It's got about 1/2" of clearance from the shroud and just enough to clear the radiator, were talking inths here. I would like to use a smaller fan, less rotating mass, however it gets awfully hot in Miami, even in the "winter time" it can be in the high 80's.

Thumbs up Re: ZZ454 in my '72 - pics

Once you go BBC you don't go back!!!!! Mine was a bit of a challenge, but only because I was using wrong parts and made them work. I'm doing another BBC in another 69 right now. This time it'll be much easier, since I have experience and the right parts this time.

Looks good....
