Adjusting Drivers Door

I need to adjust my door, will I need to remove the fender? If so, where do I start? Any tricks to make it as simple as can be?

I have adjusted the door without removing the fender.
Back the bolts off slightly (the bolts that hold the hinge to the door) You can do one hinge at a time depending on the adjustment required.
A handy item is a piece of wood like a shim to wedge the door from the bottom.
Also your door latch may have to be adjusted after the door is aligned.
There are a lot of variables when doing this alignment so take them one at a time.
There is also some alignment that comes from where the hinge is bolted to the cab.
Most doors only need slight adjustments to compensate for hinge wear.
Look the door over and make only the adjustments needed.

I hope this helps

How well do you like your paint? Thats the question. If you over adjust, you'll rub the door on the fender and that makes for chips. Adjusting is just trial and error. Move it a little at a time, and you'll get it. But like I said, it all depends on how well you like the paint on the door and fender.

Pat,
When you say my door needs adjusting.
Do you mean it is out of alignment with the body?
Do you mean that it won't latch when you close the door?
The hinge might well be worn. You can check the hinge by lifting up on the door in the open position, it should move a little but not allot.
The bolts that attach the hinge to the door offer some adjustment for wear.
There are kits to rebuild the door hinge pins that are quite cheap, but you will have to remove the door to do this.
If you are having a latch issue then the adjustment is made at the latch plate inside the door on the cab.
