93 k1500 extended cab (MN)
I decided i just don't have the time to fix this truck, as i have 3 other projects.
93 K1500 extended cab, silver with blue stripe. The Bad: The tranny is bad, but i will include a replacement from a low milage suburban, and the sending unit is pouring fuel and i will include one of them too. there is rust in the corners (typical) but the rest is solid as far as i can tell. The Good: The interior is immaculate, you can open the tailgate with one finger, the entire suspension was gone through 2 years ago, and the rear end was rebuilt at the same time. It's rolling on bilstien shocks and is the best riding truck i've ever owned. plastic bedliner in the back. I believe the engine has been rebuilt or replaced at some point because the odometer has close to 350k, and it runs like a dream, doesn't burn anything, and the 4 wheel works flawlessly, engages immediately with no hesitation. $1300 obo

Brak, why the hell didn't you tell me about this 4 or 5 months ago?!?!?!?
I would have bought yours instead of going through all the hassle of doing mine up!!

Is it drivable at all? Could I limp it West 200 miles or would it need to be trailered?

Re: 93 k1500 extended cab (MN)
Is the spare tranny a direct replacement?
In your opinion what would need to be done to get this on the road? Just replace the tranny with the one you have and replace the fuel tank sending unit? How long has the truck been sitting? I am looking for an inexpensive work truck, not something to throw the family in for a summer vacation.

Re: 93 k1500 extended cab (MN)
the sending unit would need to be replaced immediately. I've been driving the truck, it only has 1st and 3rd, but still drives great around town. I would be hesitant to drive it very far on the highway as third gear revs the engine a little higher than i like.
The tranny would be a direct replacement, it came from a 92 suburban with 75k on the clock. I was on my way to the tranny shop last week to have it replaced when the fuel leak started. It's more or less pouring onto my driveway. the more i think about it, i don't want to get rid of it, but i guess i should be spending more time on my 72.

It sounds like it would be easy to get onto a trailer.
