Will '83 pwr steering components fit '71?
Hello all, New here. I have been fooling around with early '70's model Chevy Trucks for as long as I can remember. Friend of mine has an old '83 he is going to trash. It has good power steering components (pump, steering gear). Would love to add power steering to my '71. Was wondering if it will bolt on to my '71 and if not would it be an easy modification? It has a 307 with 350 hydro.

The power steering gear will bolt right on. It is the pump that may not. If you have a stock V-8 truck with short water pump the brackets and stuff won't work. 73 and lator went with a long water pump. the steering gear may have the metric fittings also, I am not sure what year chevy went to them. prior to 1980 should be inverted flare fittings on the pump and steering gear. 1980 and later should have the metric o-ring style fittings. Give or take a year.
