Bench testing the factory AM radio
I pulled a factory AM radio out of a 70 GMC parts truck and I would like to install it in my 69 GMC.
Before I install it I would like to test it to see if it works. Can I simply run a 12 volt supply to the radio and ground the case? Does the speaker need to be grounded as well?

Re: Bench testing the factory AM radio
In short, yes. You need to run 12v power and matching ground to the radio.
The speaker does not have to be grounded unless otherwise specified by the manufacturer.
