250 Flywheel install

I have a rebuilt/HP modified 250 sitting in my garage right now, I bought it setup for an automatic (flex plate installed already). My question is this, what do I need to do to my flywheel to install it on this other 250. I know when you pull a flywheel from and engine you mark it to ensure it goes back on in the proper orientation (but obviously this can't be done in this case).

Also, can anyone tell me the difference between internally and externally balanced flywheels?

Re: 250 Flywheel install

Probably just need to put in the bushing for the trans input shaft in the crank and I would get new flywheel bolts. I pulled the flywheel from my 250 and had it turned and installed it on my 283 and have had no issues, its been on there over 10 years....Go to a good machine shop and ask them about the balance, they should give you the answer.

Re: 250 Flywheel install

I have never heard of having to mark it for proper orientation. Could you tell me more about this???
