Does anybody have any good or bad experiances with the Jensen Model cr 225x radio that is found at most wal marts. I was looking for detail pretaining to installation, fit and, sound quality. I really dont want to cut the dash, nor do I really want to blow my ears out. ...Thanks in advance

Here is the one i am talking about..

I would go with the kenwood..... I'm running an older version and have had good luck with it... I think it's the better quality of the two...

I went and looked at the kenwood models 1007 and 2007 today and noticed that the spacing between the two shafts are different than the stock am radio that i have in my truck now. My question is, is the shaft spacing adjustable to the correct width.

Thanks for the help,

Ive got the 2007 and it works fine with the face plate supplied. Lost wages is dying to cut my dash though for a newer stereo this winter.

Mudder67:

So what your saying is that the 2007 does fit without making any modifications to either the radio, or the dash??

In other words it will work and fit straight out of the box?

Thanks again...

Im thinking that radio has adjustable shafts meaning you can adjust them to fit the openings. I will go down and look at an old one i have in the garage to see.

Sorry they were wrong brands. If you are planning on using the face plate it shouldnt matter.

I just went out and looked at mine. I'm so happy. I thought it was a aftermarket radio and the guy had cut the dash. but i'm happilly wrong! it was a kenwood 2007 radio/cassette. THE DASH IS STOCK!!. HALLELUJIAH! I took it halfway out to be sure, and so i could tell you how it works.

The radio and the knobs are both smaller than the dash and the faceplate holds it all together and in. So basically, if you don't mind the faceplate, it's a good dash-saving option.

Yes its a Sony changer that works through the FM. I wouldnt recomend it as its messed the FM reception up. The changer works very good for under 100 bucks at Wally World. Clearance sale! I'm either going with a Blaupunkt head I have and one of the same changers if I can get the adapter for it.
