lowering 1968 truck and adding disc brakes

what is the cheapest way to lower my 68 chevy truck while also adding 5 lug disc brakes? i have power drum right now so will i need to change the booster also.

anyone? if i do the 73-87 crossmember swap is the wheel mounting surface to wheel mounting surface measurments the same frome side to side on the 67-72 stuff as the 73-87 stuff? and when you do this swap and go to get the alignment done what year model truck do you tell them to use the specs for? 67-72 or 73-87 specs?

booster still works but you need to ditch the distrobution block for a propotioning valve. MC might need changed...

The width should be the same or the difference so minimal that you won't notice it.

Just did the swap, MC definitely needs to be changed.

I have a 68 in my garage that has hada front crossmember from an 87 Chevy bolted under it and it appears to be very much the same as the original dimensions. I am changing my front to Classic Performance Products tubular A arms and using 3" drop spindles for my lowering.

just be aware that if you end up going with disc brake drop conversion spindles your front wheels wheel have a wider track of about inch and a half on both sides.
