The little coils are the thread replacements. You need to drill the hole in the head oversized but smaller than the little coils. Then use the tap to cut new threads into the head. The little coils should have an installer tool to screw then into the new threads that you tap, then you can bolt it back together...

Re: Need help with a screw!

I use the black one then right to install the coils, and the coils stay inside?

Re: Need help with a screw!

Before oyu drill......Is there any part of the screw close to the top of the head. I would see if there is someone that can weld a nut onto it and then you can take it out. The welding would loosen the screw and the nut would become the new head to the screw. That is better than drilling and making a big mess.

Exactly, try this first before doing anything else.

Re: Need help with a screw!

Sure u cant just use an easy out, the ones that grab the screw with some reverse facing "blades", its like a drill bit, but reverse, u just hit it into reverse, and it pulls out. Maybe theres not enough screw in order to do it. But those miny coils are helicoil threads, and just like the guys said, drill and tap a larger hole, the the helicoil goes in the new thread, and it itself becomes the new hole, with the correct size thread....
