Removing inner fenders

How hard is it to remove the front inner fender (wheel well). I looked at it today and I think I can just unbolt it, and drop it out once the wheel is off. Is this correct?
I want to clean it up and repaint it. Not sure what they cost to replace, but I may go that route if not too expensive.

Re: Removing inner fenders

Pretty easy...did mine to replace the heater core. remove several bolts around the wheel opening and a few at the top, kinda under the hood hinge. forgot about the couple under the grill/rad support.

Re: Removing inner fenders

I believe they are about $200 a pair retail or you could search the yards and classifieds and maybe find them for less.

Re: Removing inner fenders

Mine were a P.I.T.A. but that was because the bolts were rusty. The clips that act as a nut started spinning when I would loosen the bolts and I would have to put visegrips on them to hold them.Several bolts hold them on,there is atleast one that bolts to the bottom portion of the cab too,IIRC
You,being from the south, shouldnt have much problems, just squirt with WD 40 first and you should be ok
