How bad is it busted? Is it something that can be welded?

Way busted !!! Both top mounting holes are gone and busted a 1/2" down the bellhousing , I have no idea how you could do that to a tranny....

Re: Todays score !!!

If the only place it's broken is the bell housing it can be welded if you have the pieces.

Re: Todays score !!!

If you have the pieces and a good welder (operator, not necessarily machine) you can weld it back together. If nothing else I would cut a patch piece off of a junker to patch it. If it doesn't work you're not out anything. It's a no lose situation imo.

Thumbs up Re: Todays score !!!

sounds like he was running all solid engine and trans mounts..

thats why they say if you have a engine plate or solid front engine mounts to run a reg trans mount. something has to flex, the next weekest link is the transmission bell housing

Re: Todays score !!!

I'll be pulling the th-350 outta my truck in the next week or two (think it has a bad pump), and I'll give it to ya, if you can figure out a cheap way of shipping the darn thing.

Maybe if i pulled the guts out, it would be light enough to put in a box...

Is that a JW Ultrabell ??? Who sells them , I looked in Summit and they don't have it.... Is it a DIY type deal or does it have to be machined ??

Thanks for the offer , but what it would cost to ship , I'm pretty sure I could pick up a core local for less...

I thought that too , but the tranny had a new rubber mount on it from the rebuild..... I wish I had the pieces to try welding it....
