CPP drop Control Arms?

Hopefully some of you suspension buffs can help me out here... I was looking on CPP's site the other night and found their drop control arms for '71-'72 C10's (7172TCALhttp://www.classicperform.com/Store/...k/6370TCAL.htm). I've already got a good amount of drop on my truck thanks to the No Limit 4 link and ECE 2" drop springs (-1 coil). here's where the fun starts... my truck is a 3/4 ton and I'd like to see it an inch or two lower without going to bags or a full custom set up... I don't have a lot of cash to spend. The rear is going to get a new 4 link setup tuned more for drag racing that I'll be building from scratch myself. The truck is going to stay a 3/4 ton because the "wow factor" is priceless... well... when people actually realize it's not a half ton. does anyone know if these control arms from CPP are worth a damn? and if they are, can I stuff 3/4 ton ball joints in them to work with my spindles? Or will they even fit on a '68 (since they're specified as a '71-'72)? I'm sure a lot of people think I'm nucking futs for wanting to drop a 3/4 ton truck and drag race it, but hey, it's what I've got and it's a blast of a truck to have! Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Re: CPP drop Control Arms?

Check around a bit there is info on these arms and CPP here. I think there is 2-3 threads asking about CPP and the arms.

Re: CPP drop Control Arms?

Are you sure they are dropped control arms? IIRC, the geometry is changed for better alignment with a drop, but I do not think they increase the drop at all to your truck.

on the site I linked to, it states "... 3" lower than stock". just looking at the control arms pictured (wheater the actual arms or not) compaired to their new tube control arms, it's pretty obvious that they're a drop control arm. I'm sure the geometry is improved since it's a substancial drop. again, my knowledge of front suspension isn't that great.
