I have a 350 with a 2 barrel carb with manual choke... I just purchased a 4 barrell carb and intake but the choke is electric..... what all do i need to do to hook it up? where do the wires go?

Well what I did to mine, is I ran a wire to the radio hot wire at the fuse box, to the + side on the electric choke. So it only has power when the switch is on. What carb did you get. I have a Edelbrock 1406, 600cfm.

its a carter afb 600 cfm... anyone else have suggestions?

I would take it to an accessory spot on the fuse block that is powered on ONLY when the key is ON. That is what is recommended. A lot of later model trucks had the choke wire fed through a pressure switch that was part of the oil pressure system. That way the choke was initiated once oil pressure came up to a certain level.

I'm not sure how much detail you might need, but here goes...
You'll have a red wire to hook to power, and (probably) a tab on the side of the choke housing to plug a black wire into. Put the other end of the black wire under a bolt on the motor, under one of the carb mounting bolts should be OK. Take a little 12V tester, start probing (sticking the sharp point into the wires) with the key turned on. When the tester lights up, try it with the key off. Tester shouldn't light. If it does, look for another wire. Your carb should have a little "scotchlock" connector that you can stick the wires into and squeeze with pliers.

You can run that black wire from the carb ground tab to the little bolt that holds the bakelite choke housing on. That wire doesn't have to go to the intake bolts, since the carb is metal also. As for using a sctchlock connector---I never will agin use one of those plastic POS items again on any of my vehicles. Those things will fail you the day that you need them most. I recommend finding a spot to blend the wires properly and either solder the connection or connect using a quality crimp and heat shrink.
