Re: Gear Numbers
Hello all! I have a 1969 and I have not had a chance to check the rearend yet, but I read somewhere that this year truck was factory gear ratio of 3.73. with optional 3.08 or 4.11??? So does your glove box tag have an option for that gear ratio special ordered?

True, the BASE MODEL truck, came with a 3.73... however, that does not mean that the standard gear will alwaysbe 3.73. There were trannys that would come with a 4.11, and other trannys that would get you 3.07 gears. (3.08 was a car gear) Yes, if there is an optional gearset, then it would be listed, but, that doesn't mean you have 3.73's though. What engine, and tranny did your 69 come with originally? (if no engine option listed, then it was a 307 for a CE truck, and a 250 for a CS truck) Last edited by Longhorn Man; 04-26-2007 at 01:03 PM. |

Re: Gear Numbers
Will an 81 chevy rearend fit my 69? Found one for 150.00 so I thought I'd ask.
