AN Upgrade/ Modification Thread.
Hey All!
As many of you know I have been gone for awhile and have been trying desperately to get back to a point where I can get another truck. As I have been reading the posts I have realized that I have forgotten about a lot of "upgrades/modifications" I used to be well versed on. I have also noticed a few more new ones. I thought we could start a topic and put alot of them in one place, that way searching would be easier, and if some of the newer guys don't know about them it would really help them out. I'll start with a few. Please feel free to chime in with directions on how to do these or links to directions. Also please add more. 1. Use s10 weatherstipping around door frames. It will hold onto the lip better. 2. Using crossmember off of 73-87 trucks to get front discs cheap. 3. Sidemarker fuel doors. 4. Using Blazer gas tank in trucks. 5. Using f$%d gas tanks for fuel injection in trucks.(what years?) 6. What rear discs brakes to use with e-brake and without e-brake. 7. Alternator conversion. (which ones are best to look for at Junk Yards (ie police caprices, etc)) 8. Hei conversion. 9. Which other trucks to use the ball joints etc out of for disc brake swaps. (I seem to recall '88 and newer...) Please feel free to add more and elaborate on what I have put here!! I hope this turns into a very useful "One Stop Shop" thread! Shawn

Re: AN Upgrade/ Modification Thread.
What is the blazer gas tank mod? Does this relocate the tank to the rear of the truck? This is one of the mods I would like to do if that's the case.

Re: AN Upgrade/ Modification Thread.
Been a long time since I posted, but I am getting back to the 70 after a long time. I am interested in the front swap to get disc brakes and to get discs on the rear. I am not sure all the work is worth it when you can buy the whole conversion kit for $1500.
Someone please jump in here and correct me if I am wrong. About $500 to do the rear using caprice brakes and the cost of the front end plus all the labor to clean everything up for the front + miscellaneous parts and soon I would be close to the 1500 for the kit and everything is new.
