Frame sectioned
I saw a previous thread on how to shorten a long wheel base frame to a shortbed. I followed most of his ideas and did it. Its a 71 4x4 with leaf springs. I wonder how much I devalued it if any, Anybody?

Props go out to ya! There are only so many swb trucks and even fewer swb 4x4s. I don't think that a properly done frame chop is going to hurt the value. A lwb 4x4 won't bring near what an identical swb 4x4 will. Even if your chopped truck doesn't exceed the value of the original lwb, at least you got to cruise in what you wanted!

I wouldn't worry about value. Maybe if you are staying 100% original with your project on a total restore it could hurt the value. I think you helped it in value

What i have noticed for years is it is hard to get your money out of a lwb than a swb. Even if they are same quality trucks. I am going to make 2 lwb cheyennes swb. One is small block other is big block. The last nice lwb cheyenne 20 i had i could not sell it. Then somebody stold it while i had it for sale. That was the end of lwb for me.
