chrome trim alternative- air brushed?

The original color of my pickup was hugger orange/ and white with upper and lower chrome trim, lower with woodgrain. My original plan was to repaint the body in stock colors and replace all of the trim.

I have been toying with the idea of keeping the original theme and color scheme, but going with a more eye catching color. Maybe more of a creamsicle color with a light tan in place of the white.

The big difference I'm thinking, is having the chrome trim and emblems airbrushed on instead of replacing it all. I'm thinking that it will give more of a sleek look. Has anyone did this before? I would love to see pictures of what it may look like.

Thanks,
Jason

Re: chrome trim alternative- air brushed?

That's kinda what I have in mind. I want to duplicate the trim as closely as possible to the original and match the lower woodgrain. It is amazing how much fine detail can be done with an airbrush.

That is one sweet truck tho. The color is almost identical to our 72 shop truck. But it has never looked that good.

Thanks for the link,
Jason

That would be cool. Creating "woodgrain" is going to cost a fortune and be extremely time consuming.

Where is Eagle Point? I'm from Coos Bay. What is your shop?
