Suspension question
My nephew has just bought a 72 cheyenne.I have assisted him in rebuilding the front end. This truck does not have a stabilizer bar nor a sway bar currently on it. How can i find out what it came with. It has had many rig jobs done on it from before, i'm trying to right those bads from the past but have nothing to go off of. Please help.

Re: Suspension question
Check the SPID label on the inside of the glove box door. Mine was not an orginally equipped with a sway bar on the front but all the lower A arms were drilled with holes for one to be installed. Even if your truck did not come with one, that is one of the easiest upgrades to do and your truck will handel so much better you will wish it had. All you need are the frame mounting brackets, bushing mounting brackets, bushings, and the bar, and I installed mine in 15 min.

Re: Suspension question
There should be a bracket on the underside of the frame right in front of the forward "engine" cross-member. My truck had a sway bar and the bracket is riveted to the frame. The rear hole of the bracket shares a rivet with the frame cross-member. I'm not sure if this is the only way these trucks came with a sway bar but it would seem that if the upper bracket mounts with the cross-member, it might be. As Goodguytrucks mentioned, there will also be holes in the lower control arm. They may or may not be the original control arms but there's a good chance they are.
